Lucas Group, one of the nationís largest executive search firms, co-hosted an Executive Diversity Career Fair with The Wall Street Journal and Career Journal.com on Thursday, October 14 at The Embassy Suites World Financial Center in New York City.
Participating companies at New York Cityís Executive Diversity Career Fair included: Ernst & Young, Aon, AT&T, Merrill Lynch, Citigroup, Allstate, FBI, Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Freddie Mac, Moodys Investors Service, Vanguard Group, Wachovia Bank, Standard & Poorís, UnitedHealth Group and Wellpoint. Job opportunities advertised at the fair continue to be available for review online at CareerJournal.com.
The Executive Diversity Career Fairs were created in response to the current demand for executive and other senior-level diversity talent in corporate America. Earlier this year, Lucas Group, headquartered in Atlanta, reported, according to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEO), the amount of women and African-Americansí employed as officials and managers has risen nearly 33 percent in the last decade. For Hispanic and Asian managers, the numbers has grown even more dramatically with representation increasing by more than 50 percent over the past ten years.
Our career events provide an excellent opportunity for employers to meet and interview highly qualified candidates for managerial and executive positions, said Heather Crygier, Marketing Director for Lucas Group. Our candidates have higher skill sets and education levels, compared to other career fairs.
Several Executive Diversity Career Fairs are planned for 2005. The dates and locations will be announced soon.
