Darren Ryemill, founder and CEO of the Opus Professional Services Group, has won the esteemed South West ‘Young Director of the Year Award’ 2015.
The award is administered by the renowned Institute of Directors and not only recognises Darren’s exceptional leadership and profound entrepreneurship in the face of turbulent market conditions, but the outstanding achievements in the business over the past year.
Founding Opus in 2008, Darren has been paving the way for a new breed of recruitment since. Darren has grown Opus from a modest team of four, with a turnover of £1.25m in its first full year, to a globally established group of brands, a headcount of 115 and expected turnover of $75m for 2015.
Having established intercontinental bricks and mortar presences in Bristol (HQ), London, Sydney and Amsterdam, Opus is on the verge of further expansion with a USA presence and Asia presence in the not so distant future.
This year alone, Darren has been awarded the inaugural ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ award in recognition for his outstanding entrepreneurial achievements and his work in the recruitment industry, as well as ‘Best Leader’ by The Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work for; a triumph achieved against over 500 other business leaders throughout all industries.
Having won the award, Darren will now go through to represent the South West region at the Institute of Directors National Director of the Year awards in autumn.
Darren explains, “I’m elated to have won such a prestigious accolade that not only recognises my own exertions but the efforts of my ever growing team. We are constantly working hard to reflect and surpass the standards we have set for the recruitment industry and this award encourages us to work even harder!”
