G4S Secure Solutions (UK) (‘G4S’), the UK’s leading security company, has today announced the signing of a national partnership agreement with Remploy, the UK’s leading provider of specialist employment services for people with disabilities.

The agreement cements the relationship between the two parties that began in 2008 with a working agreement with one of G4S’s key customers. To date, over 80 candidates have been successfully placed in employment within G4S in the security sector, undertaking a variety of roles, from customer care to front of house duties.

The national partnership agreement will open up opportunities for people with disabilities and health conditions to work at more than 5,000 G4S-secured sites nationwide. Remploy will be provided with up-to-date vacancy information to put forward suitable candidates for potential employment.

G4S will also support the process by meeting groups of potential candidates to provide a view of working in the modern security market, facilitating site visits for Remploy applicants and providing necessary training and adaptations if, and when, required for new recruits joining the business.

Commenting on the signing, Valerie Dale, Human Resources Director, G4S Secure Solutions (UK), said: “We are delighted to formalise our relationship with Remploy and help them deliver on their commitment to provide sustainable work opportunities for those who need it most. By offering work opportunities through the scheme, we are helping to add to the skill base of G4S as well as making a positive difference to the lives of individuals and communities across the UK.”

Tim Massey, Remploy’s Account Director, said: “This partnership with G4S will increase employment opportunities for disabled jobseekers. There is a genuine desire at both organisations to work together and share information to help those furthest from the jobs market.”

Through a network of 40 high-street and city centre recruitment services branches Remploy provides a range of job searching skills, including support with interview techniques, CV writing and confidence building. It partners with some of Britain’s best known businesses to find employment for people with disabilities and complex barriers to work.

G4S Secure Solutions (UK) employs over 20,000 people throughout the UK, working with a wide range of public sector and commercial clients, including 51 FTSE 100 companies. The company provides specialist security solutions to over 5,000 customers across a range of sectors including government, utilities, financial institutions, leisure and tourism and transport.
