What employees want.....

With the ever changing economic climate and the need never greater to attract and retain staff

With the ever changing economic climate and the need never greater to attract and retain staff, Contact Recruitment has taken the opportunity to look inwards and find out what its employees really want Öand itís recognition.

Are you involved in recruiting or HR? If yes, you should think about attending the Onrec.com Online Recruitment Conference & Exhibition - Topics and Speakers listed here. Complete this enquiry form and a member of the Onrec.com team will be in touch.

With this in mind Contact has launched a monthly top billers competition designed to recognise its elite and encourage the entire team to reach its potential. The initiative comes as a result of Group Managing Director, Uzair Bawanyís investigations into just what employees look for in their employer. He discovered almost all his employees most value recognition and training. One recruitment consultant went as far as to say: ìrecognition and training are as important if not more important than financial reward.î

As the City adapts to the changing economic outlook, Contact Recruitment has been reflecting on ways in which the organisation can support and motive employees.

Bawany reveals: ìSome of our newer consultants have only experienced a strong ëbullí market and it is therefore vital we actively encourage, mentor and recognise their hard work. In response to employee feedback we have recently launched a monthly initiative scheme to recognise the companyís highest billers and to encourage competition. It has worked extremely well. We send around league tables on a weekly basis so everyone knows how they are doing and more importantly who they need to beat! We are a competitive lot and it has definitely created a sense of friendly rivalry! Those that meet the target are then treated to dinner at a restaurant of their choice.î

Winners of the first top billers initiative in March were Caroline Gardener who exceeded the target threshold by 88% and Sonia Assomull who exceeded it by 26%. They were treated to dinner at Jamie Oliverís restaurant ëFifteení in April.

While April provided FOUR winners: Contact ITís Chris Catterall achieved the target alongside his colleagues Vivek Mahajan and Frances Ketibuah who exceeded the goal by 17% and 29% respectively. The fourth winner Roisin Holden from King and Toben surpassed the target by 22%. Aprilís winners have also chosen to celebrate at ëFifteení in May.
