WCC announces ELISE for Linux

WCC Services U.S. Inc., a software company dedicated to delivering faster, more meaningful match results, today unveiled an important upgrade of its high-performance search and match system ñ ELISE. Now available for the Linux environment, ELISE 5.2 enables businesses to perform complex searches and find the most meaningful information. The product is used primarily in the staffing, e-commerce and security industries to find the people, products, or services that best match the userís requirements.

Linux Support
WCC is reacting to an important trend in the market with a Linux version of its flagship product. Several of WCCís large customers have expressed an interest in being able to run ELISE under Linux. To be able to support both Windows and Linux, the ELISE product has been re-architected to have an ìOperating System Abstraction Layerî (OSA layer). This OSA layer separates the ELISE functionality from the underlying OS services, enabling ports to other OSís in the future.

Text Search Feature
ELISEís new features were based on market demand for a matching engine that could satisfy all of their search requirements ñ whether it is keyword searching in textual data, Boolean searches against structured data, or fuzzy logic applied to both structured and unstructured data.
ELISE 5.2 now also supports Google-style text search capabilities ñ allowing users to weigh each part of the text being searched separately. For example, a match in the title may carry more weight than in the body. The combination of these new text search capabilities with ELISEís fuzzy logic capabilities for searching structured data and annotations delivers more meaningful ranked results than any other search technology on the market today.

Database & Transaction Reporting
ELISE 5.2 marks the introduction of an important toolset for database and transaction reporting ñ enabling customers to obtain insight into the data held in the ELISE database and in the transactions executed against ELISE. This allows businesses to analyze the searches themselves and learn from them. In an eCommerce context, this means that businesses can see whether the products or services being offered match the products or services that customers are actually searching for. They can then adjust their inventory to match actual customer demand, pro-actively!
