It was great to see the positive trends in the job market continue, particularly in the fall of the claimant count. Looking at the number of jobs posted on the Monster.co.uk web site, we have noticed an increase of ten per cent from July to August and nearly an 80 per cent growth year on year, comments Joe Slavin, managing director, Monster.co.uk. Sectors that we see reporting growth in terms of vacancies include IT, telecoms, admin and support services, accounting and auditing, and sales. We are coming out of the summer period, where we at Monster have noticed not only an increase in job’s posted, but also in job searches, which reflects the candidates’ views that the job market is back. This underlies the health of our industry and suggests an even stronger momentum approaching year end.
