In the third annual TARGET National Graduate Recruitment Awards, 14 organisations have been recognised for the way that they recruit graduates and bring new talent into their organisations.
In a black-tie ceremony held tonight at Londonís Hilton on Park Lane in front of 700 people, Goldman Sachs International, Deloitte, Atkins, GlaxoSmithKline, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, IBM UK, Allen and Overy LLP and Marks and Spencer received awards for being the most popular graduate recruiters in their sectors with votes cast by around 30,000 undergraduates across the country.
Six other awards were presented at the ceremony:
IBM UK was named as Graduate Employer of the Year for achieving their clear objectives in the recruitment, training, development and retention of graduates.
Lovells for the second year running won best graduate recruitment website for its user friendly site that contains a fantastic lively content designed in a clear attractive style.
KBC Financial Products won the best student marketing campaign for organisations recruiting fewer than 50 graduates for its a carefully positioned creative off-and on-line marketing.
Royal Bank of Scotland won the best student marketing campaign for organisations recruiting more than 50 graduates for its innovative, intelligent, and visually strong campaigns.
Nabarro won the best undergraduate placement programme for successfully turning placement students into full time employees.
IBM UK was also recognised for the way in which they encouraged diversity and equality of opportunity within their organisation, winning the AGCAS Diversity Award.
Commenting on the winners, Chris Phillips, Publishing Director at GTI said:
Despite the increase in student numbers, competition for the most talented graduates is getting fiercer. The winners should be delighted that graduates hold them in such high regard. We all know that they can be harsh critics and it is difficult to get the recruitment process right. The companies that have been named tonight really are setting the standards for others to follow.
