Totaljobs.com brings local government online

Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council has joined in exclusive online partnership with totaljobs.com, one of the UKís recruitment websites, to attract jobseekers.

Through using online recruitment advertising the council made a cost saving of 90 per cent compared to print media, which they had used previously. From a single advertisement placed on totaljobs.com, 550 jobseekers viewed the vacancy and over 20 applications that were submitted for consideration were deemed as being highly suitable.

Lee Williams, principal HR business partner, for Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, said: Our recruitment campaign on totaljobs.com resulted in the appointment of an excellent candidate. The response we had was far superior to the number received via traditional print advertising. For future recruitment we will definitely continue in our partnership with totaljobs.com
