Top companies to share in Diversity Mentoring Scheme

Due to be launched by diversity consultancy, Performance Through Inclusion (PTI) on 8th March 2005

HBOS, Centrica, Co-operative Group, PepsiCo, BskyB, Deloitte, KPMG and Ford Europe are amongst the first companies to sign up to a unique organisational diversity mentoring scheme.

Due to be launched by diversity consultancy, Performance Through Inclusion (PTI) on 8th March 2005, the scheme will enable the UKís leading diversity experts to share best practice with other leading UK companies on a whole host of issues by providing hands-on assistance and advice.

Members of Performance Through Inclusionís diversity network, which celebrates its third anniversary this month since launching at Cranfield in 2002, include HBOS, Pearson Group, Deloitte, Centrica, KPMG, Co-op Group, Pitney Bowes, RBS, PepsiCo and Ford. Recent projects the forum has been involved in include a collaboration with the DTI on ëBrighter Boards for a Better Futureí, which resulted in members contributing to a guide to support chairman and chief executives in recruiting more women to the boardroom.

Kate Headley, director and head of PTIís recruitment division, said: ìThe network is already widely viewed as the UKís leading think tank for diversity and inclusion, so it was decided, as we approached the third anniversary, to widen its scope further and take the expertise that exists within the group to the next level.

ìNetworking and sharing ideas with fellow practitioners is of unquestionable value and is something the network does already. What it will do now is enable one company that has developed a successful formula in one particular area of diversity to help a company that has historically struggled.

ìA company that has struggled in one particular area of diversity may have an awful lot to add somewhere else. This is how we envisage the mentoring to work and weíre confident that it will spread far more quickly.î
