The number of job searches that were made on TipTopJob throughout the month of January increased by a massive 2330% year on year (Jan ’05 to Jan ’06) and 1585% in 6 months. Jobseekers performed a total of 3,600,000 searches on TipTopJob in January.
Mike Dauncey, CEO at TipTopJob comments, We can see an increased interest in the site and plenty more candidates finding and using the services in comparison to the same time last year. With more searches being made, this shows that more candidates are using the site and finding the jobs being advertised with us. In turn, this leads to increased applications. Monster have just announced 8 million searches in January, so we are extremely happy to be almost half way towards their figures!
In the background, the online recruitment industry itself is booming at the same time as print recruitment advertising is suffering. According to The Media Monitoring Service (MMS), the number of jobs advertised in the press has decreased by 13% over the last months, highlighting the interest in online recruitment and signalling a positive sign for the future of the industry.
