Thomsons Online Benefits launches new pension fund analysis tool

Thomsons Online Benefits has launched a new online pension fund information service that allows employees in defined contribution (DC) schemes to obtain instant, real-time fund performance values.

The Morningstar Fund Feature is designed to hand control of DC schemes over to members, who will be able to see how their funds are performing against others in the same sector.

Employees will be provided with a wealth of fund performance information for each fund with each provider which can even be sorted by name, sector, MorningStar rating, manager tenure, year-to-date return or latest price. They will also have the option to switch funds.

Michael Whitfield, Chief Executive Officer at Thomsons Online Benefits comments: ìFor the first time for many employees, they will have access to information on a real-time basis, and not from a provider once a month. It will be right there in front of them. This may not appeal to every single employee, but it will appeal to those who want to manage their pension fund actively.î

The Morningstar Fund Feature is offered as an option within Thomsonsí Perquisiteô software as part of an employeeís online flexible benefits and total reward site and is not offered as a stand-alone product.
