The National Engineering Recruitment Exhibition & The National Construction Recruitment Exhibition

NEC, BIRMINGHAM, 26 & 27 NOVEMBER 2004

The 2004 National Engineering Recruitment Exhibition (NER) and The National Construction Recruitment Exhibition (NCR) will take place on 26 and 27 November at the NEC, Birmingham.

Supported by the ICHemE, CIC, IStructE, WES and IIE, the exhibition will profile engineering and construction opportunities for both skilled professionals and graduates. Disciplines will include civil, rail, aerospace, construction, mechanical, IT, automotive, manufacturing, process engineering and defence.

A number of companies regularly exhibit at the show and use it as a forum to recruit staff, including the armed forces who attended NER and NCR on a regular basis. Exhibiting companies include Allianz Cornhill Engineering, Altran, Cameron Taylor Bedford, Cogent Defence & Security Networks, Cummins Business Services, QinetiQ, Royal Navy, Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK Ltd and TRL Technology (see www.engineerjobs.co.uk & www.construction-job.co.uk for full exhibitor details.)

Michael Coates, Manager Recruitment & Development, Cummins Engine Company said: We have approximately 150 vacancies at any one time; 50 opportunities for experienced engineers and 100 for graduates and one year placements. We find the National Engineering Recruitment Exhibition a good source of high calibre candidates for all levels and a significant number of candidates we met at the last event went on to be invited to interview with us.

The interactive elements of previous shows will also be built on, such as the ever-popular engineering challenges hosted by exhibitor INPUT. These challenges give visitors the chance to put various skills to the test and provide a platform for them to discuss their career plans with industry experts.
