For the second year running, privately owned The Best Connection, has retained its position as the No. 1 provider of temporary staff to the driving/HGV sector in the UK.
Figures published in Recruitment Internationalís Top 100 also places the company at number three in the industrial sector, two positions higher than in 2004. The performance figures are further supported by The Best Connectionís 37% increase in turnover over the past two years to 125 million and its branch growth programme. The regional network has expanded by 18% in 2005 bringing the total number of sites to 53. Employee figures rose proportionately to 490 staff.
Neil Yorke, director of The Best Connection, said: ìGetting to the top position in the driving sector has always been one of our primary goals. Staying there and protecting our position is even more important to us. We can only achieve this by being responsive to the market and by delivering a consistent, quality service.î
In the face of stiff competition, The Best Connection continues to gain market share in its core business sectors and maintain strong profitability - which has eluded many of its competitors. The demand for temporary labour, which is estimated to make up 7% of the countryís working population, has fuelled the companyís growth.

Whilst 70% of our business is industrial, we have further strengthened this element over the past year and the results have started to pay off. Demand is still high in the sector and shows little sign of abating. Our aim is to maintain our expansion programme and continue to fight for the top spot in all our sectors,î Yorke continued.
The turnover rankings placed The Best Connection as 10th largest independent agency and 27th largest overall, in the UK. In addition, the company has just been ranked 4th British business in Europeís 500 Entrepreneurs for Growth in conjunction with Business Week magazine.
