Temp workers safeguard turkeys this Christmas

More than 330,000 turkeys will land on Christmas dinner tables this year thanks to an army of temporary workers stepping in to support retailer distribution centres.

The Pertemps staff will support Marks & Spencer and logistics partner Gist in getting orders out on the road to ensure all deliveries are fulfilled at the busiest time of year.

The 106 workers will be dispatched to a dedicated distribution centre in Daventry over the next week to make sure that the birds land in time for December 25.

Bartosz Rezkallah, Regional Account Manager for West Midlands-based Pertemps, said: “Most dinner tables on Christmas Day will have a turkey and we pulled out all the stops to make sure that families weren’t let down.

“We were able to dive into our talent pool to line-up workers to support the logistics to get the turkeys delivered in time for the big day.

“We are immensely proud of our team for their hard work and dedication in ensuring that Christmas traditions are upheld.”
