Tate Donates 3,000 in Christmas Card Money to Cancer Research UK

Tate went green at Christmas

Tate went green at Christmas. Instead of sending cards, the consultants asked their clients, via email, to select one of five nominated charities to receive the donation. Cancer Research UK won the poll, receiving around 50% of the total votes.

Julia Robertson, Managing Director, accompanied by Charlotte Woodward, West End Temporary Team Manager, presented the donation to Rob Farace, Head of Resourcing and Charlotte Pavry, Community Fundraiser on Wednesday 31st January 2007 in Tateís Central London office.

Cancer Research UK was delighted to have been chosen to receive a donation of 3,000 from Tate. Community Fundraiser, Charlotte Pavry, said this is a lovely way to mark the festive season and will make a great difference to our life-saving research. Cancer Research UK is the worldís leading independent organisation dedicated to cancer research. We receive very little government funding and rely on the support of donations such as that from Tate to fund 3,500 research scientists, doctors and nurses throughout the UK. Julia Robertson from Tate said ìOur customers entered the Christmas spirit by responding to our Charity Poll with enthusiasm. We were pleased to give them the choice of charity that would benefit from our donation, and we are delighted that Cancer Research UK will put the money to great use. It is lovely to spread a little festive cheer in the New Year!î
