Tackling Tough Leadership Challenges

A selection of top HR professionals from across the UK gathered together recently to learn how executive education can help with tackling tough leadership challenges. The event, which was jointly hosted by Aston Business Schoolís Executive Education team and training specialists Trans4mation heard from some esteemed speakers, including Sir John Allison, who talked about some of the leadership challenges he faced flying with the Royal Air Force and in his role as an Air Marshall.

Christine Chateur from Aston Business School said ìIn the very early stages of planning this event it became clear that the subject, tough leadership challenges had a lot of relevance for the potential delegates and places became much sought after. This session was an insight for the attendees, who discovered how executive education can equip management teams to deal successfully with any corporate issues, no matter how tough. It was also an opportunity for us to learn from them exactly the concerns they face in what were an extremely diverse group of national, global and Governmental organisations.î

Presentations from Professor Robin Martin of Aston Business School and Dr Mike Bagshaw of Trans4mation explored the current challenges in expanding global organisations, looking at whatís really going on and examining leadership qualities and behaviours.

Christine Chateur added ìWe deliver career development in a way that benefits both the individual and the employer which usually results in increased productivity and staff retention. Sir John Allison presented a very balanced perspective on leadership and corporate and individual responsibility, which combined with sessions from our other specialists that showed how executive education programmes can be given particular relevance for real life challenges and provoke thought, and introduce the thought processes that are beneficial to businesses everywhere.î
