Strong Job Growth Expected At Executive-Level

ExecuNetís Recruiters Confidence Index (RCI) remained near its all time highs in February

ExecuNetís Recruiters Confidence Index (RCI) remained near its all time highs in February, as executive search firms continued to aggressively add staff to keep pace with a market thatís proven to be remarkably resilient amid mixed economic data.

Introduced in May 2003, the Recruiters Confidence Index is based on a monthly survey of thousands of executive recruiters conducted by ExecuNet (www.execunet.com), the leading executive career, business and recruiting network. Independent analysis of the RCI has confirmed it is a leading indicator for the executive search industry.

According to the survey of 159 executive recruiters, 77% are confident or very confident the executive employment market will improve during the next six months ñ nearly unchanged from 78% one month ago.

Confidence In The Executive Employment Market
Next Six Months

ìThe near-record level of confidence in the executive employment market is consistent with the volume of new opportunities that are being filled by members of our network in the first two months of this year,î says Mark Anderson, President of ExecuNet. ìThereís no question that the prospects for executives considering a job change are better today than they have been in a long time.î

Recruitersí short-term outlook improved in February, as 80% said they are confident or very confident the employment market will improve in the next three months ñ up from 78% in January. This bullish forecast is well supported by the search industryís own growth. In February, more than half of all search firms (56%) reported plans to hire additional professional staff during the next three months. In the previous three months, 38% of all firms added staff to keep pace with the growth of the executive employment market.
