StepStone sponsors Rosie Stancers North Pole record attempt

StepStone is sponsoring British Arctic trekker, Rosie Stancer, as she attempts to become the first woman to reach the North Pole solo

StepStone, a provider of total talent management services and software, is sponsoring British Arctic trekker, Rosie Stancer, as she attempts to become the first woman to reach the North Pole solo.

Rosie is currently travelling across the ice on her way to the North Pole and if successful, she will also become the only woman in the world to have walked solo to both poles following an earlier successful solo expedition in Antarctica.

StepStone CEO, Colin Tenwick, said the intimidating journey would put Rosie under intense physical and psychological stress.

ìRosie will be battling not only the elements but sleep deprivation, fatigue and hunger. Overcoming the feeling of isolation will require great mental strength but hopefully the knowledge that many people around the world are following her progress and willing her on will help Rosie reach her goal,î Mr Tenwick said.

ìRosieís courage and tenacity to take on such a daunting challenge is an inspiration to us all at StepStone. Weíre proud to support her record attempt and hope that she will complete the journey safely.î

Rosieís journey began on March 6 from Ward Hunt Island, on the northern tip of Canada. From here, Rosie has set off across the frozen arctic ocean on a 415 nautical mile journey to reach the North Pole, which lies on floating pack ice in the middle of the Arctic Ocean.

The expedition is expected to take some 60 days, and it will cover some of the most inhospitable terrain on the planet with the temperature expected to drop as low as -50 degrees Celsius. Rosie will have to walk, ski, climb and even swim her way to the North Pole.
