SPA saves Nicoll Curtin two days processing time per month

Nicoll Curtin is a young and vibrant organisation specialising in Operations and IT recruitment for the City. They have Executive Search and Contingency divisions and recruit for the worldís largest and most prestigious financial institutions.

Nicoll Curtinís management has over thirty-five years experience in the City, fifteen of which were spent within Operations.

Beverley Nicoll, Director, founded Nicoll Curtin Limited in December 1999 with a policy of only representing people with the attitude, competencies and key skills to succeed in this fast-moving industry.

In the initial stages Nicoll Curtin outsourced the payroll to their accountants. But as the company grew and took on more clients, it became more complex and time consuming to create the client invoices for time spent by contractors at each company.

Marion Luckman, Office Manager at Nicoll Curtin takes up the story ìThe process of converting timesheets into invoices was totally manual. We manually keyed in information to produce the invoices. This was becoming a time consuming task and it also had an effect on the accuracy of information we produced. We then took the decision to bring the payroll processing in-house and purchase a payroll system that would integrate to our Sage Line50 accounting system.î

Nicoll Curtin looked at a number of systems, but chose SPA from Accsoft as it was the most flexible system demonstrated and it is designed specifically for the recruitment market.

ìAccsoft understood our requirements immediately and the system fulfilled all of our requirements,î continues Marion. ìSince installing SPA, we are now saving two days work per month and as we are growing, the system is making the growth easier to manage. The information entered is right first time due to the integration between the payroll and the invoicing so we do not have to spend time re-checking work.î

The next phase of development with SPA is the management reporting. This will be specifically designed for the needs of the management team to monitor hours invoiced per client and general management information above the standard reporting.

Nicoll Curtin is also impressed with the support they receive from Accsoft. ìThey always try and answer questions first time but on the odd occasion they cannot, they always get back with an answer with a reasonable time period,î concluded Marion.
