To cope with increased demand in the recruitment of foreign workers locally, Smart Group Recruitment Solutions has employed a full time ëResourcerí who speaks four languages including English, Russian, Latvian and Polish. Born in Poland, Natali Modnas has been appointed to work alongside the Industrial Division within the Yeovil branch to aid in the search for a selection of foreign temps for two major contracts recently won by the Group. Since Poland joined the EU in May 2005, 73,545 Poles have signed the British government register of migrant workers:* nearly half of that figure is made up of new immigrants. Poles are by far the largest national group to have come from Eastern Europe in the past year - there have been 20,000 from Lithuania, 13,500 from Slovakia, and 9,000 from Latvia. According to the Home Office, only 21 of the 133,000 east European migrant workers registered have signed on the dole and this can, in part, be attributed to the forward thinking approach of proactive recruitment agencies such as Smart Recruitment.
