To assist organisations in their efforts to reduce their carbon footprint, online learning provider, SkillSoft, today launches a campaign to encourage ígreener trainingí.
Kevin Young, Managing Director of SkillSoft, EMEA explains:
Despite all the publicity about the growing adoption of green working initiatives, comprehensive environmental policies in the workplace still remain relatively rare. A recent study by communication technology provider, J2Global, found that a third of firms were lacking íeven the most basic green policiesí, such as paper recycling, while three quarters had not even undertaken a íthink before you printí awareness campaign.
With increasing pressure on businesses to cut their carbon emissions, online learning is the environmentally friendly way to train staff. As a world leader in e-learning solutions we wanted to demonstrate how e-learning can make a valuable contribution to existing training methods
- and impact on an organisationís carbon footprint by reducing the amount of travel, power and paper necessary to provide effective workforce training.
From this week until the end of May, as part of this campaign, medium and large size organisations will be able to evaluate up to five complete online training courses of their choice, for up to five employees for a period of 30 days.
Courses are available in 18 languages and can be selected according to business need from over 5,000 titles across a wide range of curricula.
These include management, business, finance and desktop training as well as specialised IT instruction for a variety of disciplines at every level.
Organisations can view the complete course offering from SkillSoft, as well as learning more about how training employees through e-learning makes environmental sense, by visiting
