SHL appoints specialist to head up new retail team

Teresa Fearis has been appointed as head of retail assessments at SHL

Teresa Fearis has been appointed as head of retail assessments at SHL, the world-leading provider of psychometric assessment and development solutions.

Teresa will head up SHLís retail team and her role will be to create awareness within the retail community of the capabilities, benefits and potential ROI of objective assessment.

After starting her career as a psychologist in the Prison Service, Teresa moved to SHL to develop and measure the success of objective assessment in client organisations. She then progressed her career into a business development role within the company where she has helped many retail clients to radically improve the way they select and retain staff.

The retail team at SHL has 20 objective assessment specialists and has worked with an enviable list of clients including Tesco, Marks and Spencer, Co-op, Habitat, Somerfield and Argos.

Kevin Kerrigan, managing director, SHL UK says: Teresaís appointment comes at a critical time: Retailers are continually striving to build or maintain competitive advantage in a fierce market so they need to consider the impact of every individual within their organisation. So often, a shopperís experience is adversely affected by the actions or attitude of a single
individual: every hire is now a íhigh-stakesí hire!

Teresa Fearis added: SHL has already delivered significant savings and enhanced performance from staff at all levels in some of the UKís leading high-street names. An important aspect of my new role will be to continue to work closely with retailers to help them understand the benefits that objective assessment can bring to their business.
