Searches for remote working roles soar by over +2000% topping job seekers wish list

The latest job market data from the UK’s leading independent job board, CV-Library, reveals that remote working is now a predominant factor for workers looking for their next role.

As the UK adapted to life and work amidst lockdowns and restrictions, searches for remote working roles have leapt up by incredible percentages. CV-Library analysed data from the last six months and compared it with the same period year-on-year. The results show that every single sector saw an increase in candidates searching for remote working opportunities.

The industries which witnessed some of the largest increases includes:

  • Customer Service (up +2476.8%)
  • HR (up +1328.4%)
  • Administration (up +1309.1%)
  • Accountancy (up +1136.3%)
  • Public Sector (up +1080.4%)
  • Secretarial and PA (up +975.3%)
  • Sales (up +784.4%)
  • Insurance (up +575.8%)
  • Financial (up +687.2%)
  • Engineering (up +537.9%)
  • Recruitment (up +535.4%)

Lee Biggins, founder and CEO of CV-Library comments: “Despite skepticism from some employers, the pandemic has proven that remote working is viable for many businesses and employees can work effectively when not in the office.”

Biggins continues: “No industry has escaped the pandemic unchanged but the organisations that have been able to adapt are the ones that have been able to survive and, in some cases, thrive, during these difficult and unprecedented times. Long after COVID restrictions have been relaxed, forms of remote working will remain, having proven to offer solutions for both employers and their staff.”
