ScottishAppointments.com launches Career Communities

New enhanced online job searching for Scottish jobseekers

Award-winning Scottish job site, ScottishAppointments.com, which caters for vacancies in all industry sectors across Scotland, has launched six new Career Communities and implemented a redesign which features improved functionality and incorporates the siteís new branding, created by The Leith Agency.

Career Communities promote leading employers in Scotland within industry sectors and offer jobseekers an enhanced level of focused job searches within those sectors.
The six Communities launched are: Call Centre, Education, Engineering, Finance, Healthcare and Legal; all of which are prominently promoted from the siteís home page for easy access by jobseekers looking for vacancies to match their skills and experience.

These Communities have been selected from their high level of jobseeker activity and employer participation. Further Communities are planned in coming months as interest from leading employers and support from industry sector bodies grow.
Communities differ from industry-specific job sites in that participating companies can advertise support vacancies within the general job search. For instance, a Legal firm can receive applications for its IT vacancies from the IT/Computing job search. This could not be achieved from a Legal job site.

The site redesign was developed by StormID and deployed by Scotland On Line. New features include enhanced navigation and a more comprehensive advanced search incorporating 42 pre-defined industry sectors.

Key site features, which have provided popular with jobseekers and employers alike because of their clarity and functionality, have been retained while additional help has been provided by enhanced content and a FAQ section which addresses the most frequent queries since the siteís launch.

Managing Director of ScottishAppointments.com, Pat Kelly comments: ëI am extremely delighted with the redesign and the introduction of the Career Communities. The interest from leading employers at this early stage is a clear sign that the Communities will prove hugely successful in enabling jobseekers to find information and vacancies from leading employers in key industries more effectively.
Our key objective, that Jobseekers can more easily tap into pertinent industries to match their skills, has been achieved and that will increase usability and therefore throughput of quality applications to employers.í
