Scottish IT recruitment company 9-20 recruitment are one of only two Scottish companies through to the final of this yearís ëDell Small Business Excellence Awardí.

The awards run in partnership with the British Chambers of Commerce and The Daily Express is looking to reward those smaller businesses throughout the UK who have demonstrated an innovative use of technology to dramatically improve the
experience of their customers.

Having already won a Dell business class laptop and an accredited Chamber of Commerce membership 9-20 will be hoping to take home the UK prize, announced on September 10th, with the winner receiving 15,000 in Dell products & services and a day at Dell with company CEO and founder Michael Dell.

Following the UK competition will be the global awards which will see the 10 national winners competing for the top prize where a whopping 25,000 in Dell products and services as well as a lifetime membership to the ICSB is up for grabs.

After seeing the success of the awards in the US in the last four years with past winners such as ëMedkineticsí a Tennessee based software vendor and this yearís winner ëTransport Designs Incí, Dell this year decided to expand the awards to the four corners of the globe with 2008 seeing competitions as far and wide as Australia, Brazil and China.

9-20 recruitment in the past two years have developed from scratch ëProactiverRecruiterí a web-based, recruiter and client resource management system which as well as cutting a large chunk out of recruiters resourcing time has allowed the company the opportunity to develop a separate ëviewí for both client and candidate, including the 9-20 network, where IT candidates can ëconnect to progressë.

As a result of this and a whole host of other technology developments 9-20 has already been recognised on one occasion this year at the Scottish Recruitment Awards and if the company were to win the UK competition it would be the fourth accolade the company has received in a hectic eight months of awards and competitions.

Wendy McDougall, 9-20 recruitmentís Managing Director, had the following to say on the subject of technology in recruitment, ìRecruitment is changing fundamentally and within our sector in particular the importance of technology simply cannot be overstated. Through our companyís own substantial investment we have been able to provide our clients with a complete recruitment infrastructure, with our latest offering in Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) giving us that extra dimension required in todayís tight market.î
