Salaries rise in areas with fastest growing rates of Delta variant

The latest employment data from the UK’s leading independent job board, CV-Library, shows a clear pattern of salaries rising in areas where cases of the Delta variant of COVID-19 are rising sharply.

Looking at average salaries for job posted in June so far, when compared to the same period last month, the Midlands dominates the top ten list. The full list is as follows:

Salaries in all other major cities either held steady or recorded a slight dip in average salaries for the month so far.

Lee Biggins, CEO and founder of CV-Library comments: “Businesses are fighting harder than ever to make it to the end of lockdown restrictions. Recruitment is the cornerstone of both survival and longevity and its clear to see that, in the most competitive areas, businesses are rising to the challenge and stepping up their efforts.”

Biggins continues: “With news that restrictions will continue for an additional four weeks, offering enhanced salaries and the most competitive packages will do much to entice the many job seekers that remain hesitant in these uncertain times and give businesses the chance to hit the ground running on 19th July.”
