Russell Group University awards HR and payroll contract to Northgate HR

The University of Southampton has awarded Northgate HR a five year contract for its ResourceLink integrated HR, payroll and pensions solution

The University of Southampton, one of the UKís research Universities and a member of the prestigious Russell Group, has awarded Northgate HR a five year contract for its ResourceLink integrated HR, payroll and pensions solution.

ResourceLink will modernise current HR, payroll and pension administration processes when it replaces the Universityís aging HR and payroll system in August 2007.

In addition to the core system, the University will benefit from the provision of distributed system access, manager and employee self service, single data entry and enhanced reporting. The Universityís 5000 employees will have access to the system to maintain personal records, and view forms such as their payslips. Managers will be able to manage their teams by viewing and authorising changes to the employeeís records as well as administering areas such as holiday, absence and training requests.

The contract worth 560,000 represents a significant investment in HR at the University. Tony Strike, director of HR, University of Southampton said: ìWe hope to forge a genuine partnership with Northgate HR to increase the strategic impact of HR at the University. Our aim is to help improve processes and reduce administration so HR staff can concentrate on recruiting and retaining the best staff and students to make sure that the University of Southampton is the university of choice.î

Malcolm Aldis, managing director, Northgate HR said: ìThe addition of a prestigious Russell Group University will clearly strengthen our position in the university sector. We are delighted to be working with the University of Southampton and are looking forward to modernising their current HR, payroll and pension processes, to provide service and quality improvements.î
