Russam GMS partners with MS Society to ‘Stop MS’

The MS Society, the UK’s largest national charity focused on MS, has appointed Russam GMS as its first corporate partner to support its ‘Stop MS’ appeal

The MS Society, the UK’s largest national charity focused on MS, has appointed Russam GMS as its first corporate partner to support its ‘Stop MS’ appeal.

The appeal aims to raise £107m in the next 10 years in a bid to stop people developing MS.

Russam has pledged to raise 100k over the next two years; £1 for every person in the UK suffering from the disease.

The company has planned many fund raising activities to help reach its target including a London to Paris Bike Ride, regular ‘Bake offs’, a MS Walk, a ‘Night Rider’ event and wine tasting events. The company will also appeal for corporate donations towards the appeal.

With medical research into MS at a tipping point, MS Society hopes that by raising £107m funding in the next decade, new treatments will be developed that will not only dramatically improve symptoms, but potentially bring progression to a halt.

Jason Atkinson, Managing Director of Russam and a trustee at MS Society said, “MS is a subject close to my heart. The MS Society is doing some ground breaking work to support people with MS and to halt the progress of MS.  We’re delighted to support them and to be their first corporate partner. All our activities over the two years, will be focused on raising money for the ‘Stop MS’ appeal.”
