Rockpools has today won a major assignment - to find the London Borough of Newham a new Chief Executive.

Newham Council is an ambitious local authority which provides quality services to its communities, confirmed by it recently being awarded three stars from independent watchdog, the Audit Commission, in its 2006 Comprehensive Performance Assessment review. It is arguably the most important borough for London 2012, hosting more than sixty per cent of the Olympic Park, including the Aquatics Centre, main stadium, Olympic Village, Velodrome, new BMX centre and miles of new parkland. Newham also has one of the most successful directly-elected mayoral models in the country, with Mayor Sir Robin Wales being elected in 2002 (and reelected in 2006), following seven years as borough leader.

Hamish Davidson, Rockpoolsí Chair and Senior Partner, said: ìThis is an important win for Rockpools ñ and a real honour to source a worthy leader for this exciting role.

ìWith Newhamís unstoppable pace for positive change and development for its people and its communities, particularly as hosts of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, we will be looking for a highly talented individual whose outstanding leadership skills are only matched by their commitment to place. The Council have set the bar very high indeed to find the very best candidate for this challenging and rewarding role ñ and I am confident we will deliver such a person.î

The search will begin immediately. More information about the role can be found online at www.rockpools.co.uk shortly.
