Executive resourcing firm, Rockpools, has begun a national search to find the Deputy Chair and three Commissioners for the Audit Commission.

The Audit Commission is a non-departmental public body which ensures that public money is spent economically, efficiently, and effectively. Its Board drives the organisation, setting out the Commissionís objectives and strategies and making sure they are delivered.

The Deputy Chair role will involve making a significant contribution to the strategic decision making of the Commission and is a key public appointment made by the Secretary of State. The Commissioners will independently oversee the Audit Commissionís remit and will be appointed by the Department for Communities and Local Government.

Hamish Davidson, Rockpoolsí Chairman and Senior Partner, said: ìWeíre looking for four outstanding individuals to hold these pivotal leadership roles within the Audit Commission, so clearly we will be sourcing candidates from the widest pool of talent available and seeking out candidates with and from diverse backgrounds.

ìOur search will also encompass talented individuals with expertise in the private sector, local government, police and fire, environmental policy, recycling and waste. If you have the passion and drive to make a difference, and the skills to match, then I encourage you to apply.î

Rockpools has a strong track of recruiting talented individuals to key roles in non-departmental government bodies, such as the Audit Commission. Other assignments which Rockpools has successfully completed include recruiting the Chair and Chief Executive of the Olympic Delivery Authority, the Chair, Chief Executive and fourteen commissioners for the new Commission for Equalities and Human Rights (CEHR) and the Chair and Chief Executive of Sport England.
