Recruitment is reducing its Carbon Footprint

JobServe celebrate their 13th birthday today

JobServe, the worldís first recruitment web site, are celebrating their 13th birthday today with added jubilation in recognition of the contribution made by online job seekers to saving the planet.

A 13th year may be unlucky for some, but not JobServe. During the last 12 months over 10 million job applications have been processed by the company, saving 10 million CVs, covering letters, stamps and envelopes being transported over a billion miles.

The paper saving alone is the equivalent of 264 trees, which over the 13 years we’ve been in business would add up to a 15 acre forest. said Ian Frost, Marketing Manager at JobServe.

On top of this, JobServeís efforts have also cut down on dangerous emissions, which threaten the planet with Global Warming.

The fuel saving is at least 19,000 gallons a year in trips to post boxes and mail van activity,î continued Ian. ìThatís enough to fill the average sized swimming pool, or if taken over the 13 year life of the company, enough fuel has been saved to run the average family car for 615 years.

Once you factor in the impact of other websites around the world like JobServe then the effect on the carbon footprint of the job searching process becomes significant.

The JobServe website was launched on the 4th May 1994 and it has grown in its 13 years to become one of the UKís most recognised internet brands, offering job listings from every industry sector, with expanding interests in the USA and Australia.
