The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has announced that leading recruitment company Reed has joined its membership.
The Reed family of companies employs more than 4,000 people in 400 offices throughout the UK, with overseas offices in Australia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Ireland, Malta, Poland, Qatar and Singapore, Reed operates over 30 specialist recruitment divisions.
Reed's website, reed.co.uk, receives more than 1.2 million job applications per month across a wide range of sectors making it the largest private sector jobsite in the UK.
Explaining why Reed has become a member of the REC, Chairman James Reed said: ìThe REC is recruitmentís biggest lobbying voice in the UK and by joining Reed will increase its ability to influence the government on legislation affecting our industry, such as the new Agency Workers Directive.
