Recruitment activity continued to increase in September, but rate of growth slowed.

The latest REC/Deloitte Report on Jobs indicated that recruitment consultanciesí permanent staff placements and temporary staff billings increased strongly again in September, although the rates of increase were slightly less marked than in the previous month. Meanwhile, strengthened demand for staff from employers and rising skill shortages amongst available candidates resulted in a further marked increase in average pay rates.
