With corporate profits and optimism on the rise, ExecuNetís Recruiters Confidence Index continued to increase in January. The recent survey of 140 executive recruiters conducted by ExecuNet, the executive job search and recruiting network, shows the demand for executive talent will rise in the first and second quarters of 2005.
According to the survey, 76% of recruiters are confident or very confident the executive employment market will improve during the next six months - up from 74% in November 2004. During the first two quarters of 2005, the executive search industry is expecting a 17% increase in the number of assignments received from corporate clients.
ìThe employment marketís recovery at the executive level is on solid ground,î says Mark Anderson, President of ExecuNet. ìIf the market continues to live up to expectations, there will be a significant spike in turnover, as many executives will be looking for, and finding, new opportunities.î
Recruitersí short-term outlook for the executive employment market also improved significantly in January, as 67% are confident or very confident the market will advance in the three months ahead - up from 58% in November 2004.
More than half (55%) of all search firms have plans to hire additional professional staff during the next three months to prepare for growth in the employment market. During the past three months, 38% of search firms added professional staff.
ìThe surge in executive search firm hiring began in November when recruiters anticipated an increase in the demand for executive talent among clients,î says Anderson. ìExecutive recruiting firms wouldn’t be adding staff if they had doubts about the employment marketís recovery.î
