REC announces changes to board positions giving a fresh new look for 2005

David Winterburn has been elected Chairman of the REC Board with two Vice Chairs Richard Barfield, Spring Group and Richard Sowerby, Sowerby & Associates.

David Winterburn is a recruitment specialist with Ramsey Hall Executive Search and Selection and he has been a longstanding and active REC member for a number of years tirelessly campaigning for higher standards in the industry. Richard Sowerby is an experienced board member and past chairman who is absolutely dedicated to bringing the industry together. Richard Barfield is a highly respected professional who has a wealth of executive experience in a range of industries. Richard is Chief Executive Officer of Spring Group, which is not only the largest IT recruitment agency but also the 4th largest recruitment agency in the UK.

Commenting on the new look board Gareth Osborne, Managing Director, REC says, ìThe REC is a progressive trade association and these changes highlight the diverse representation that we have on the board. We have had a tremendous year with record membership figures, which have allowed us to respond to member needs in lobbying, legal advice and standards raising initiatives. The REC board is made up of 12 senior representatives from recruitment companies across the UK varying in size and sector. The Board is the governing body of REC, and directly through committees, supervises the work of the Executive.
