A rapidly changing, increasingly complex employment environment has prompted the RCSA (Recruitment and Consulting Services Association) to upgrade its Business Support Service (BSS), launched today in response to Membersí growing demands for reliable information and advice.
Announced today at the RCSAís Board Lunch in Sydney, CEO of the RCSA, Ms Julie Mills, said the new-look Business Support Service continues to provide a first port of call for Members seeking guidance on a range of issues such as workplace agreements, business contracts, OHandS, and risk management.
Initial enquiries are answered at no cost to Members, while those who require further services gain access to a cost-effective, industry-specific solution.
ìOur aim was to ensure we maintained a consistent, accountable and streamlined system to provide timely, business-driven advice. By choosing to work with several specialist providers, all selected due to their deep understanding of the industry, we can offer the breadth and depth knowledge managers need to navigate complex legal and business issues,î Ms Mills said.
ìWhile the initial Business Support Service model has been extensively used by Members, itís a valuable resource that needed to be expanded in todayís changing employment climate,î Ms Mills said.
Facilitating the transition from the old state-based Awards system to new Federal workplace agreements is a key focus of the BSS. A legal and consulting firm, Enterprise Initiatives, has partnered with RCSA to achieve this.
Managing Director Ben Thompson, said simplicity is one of the key benefits that the BSS will deliver.
ìAn on-hire company thatís currently working under multiple awards in several states may be dealing with 500 pages of requirements; now they can bring them all under one workplace agreement, made specifically for their agency, and cut that down to about a dozen pages,î Mr Thompson said.
Its specialist experience in the recruitment and on-hire industry means that Enterprise Initiatives is able to keep costs to a minimum, and within the reach of all businesses, from small to large.
ìWeíve been able to identify the key features needed by the recruitment and on-hire industry, and use it as a basis for all our contracts and agreements. So whilst we customise them for each client weíre not re-inventing the wheel each time. This keeps costs down significantly,î he said.
Other providers in the BSS support program are: Stratecom, Lander and Rogers Lawyers and SRM Risk.
