Quality Mark for ECDL Training Centres Launched

ICS SKILLS has launched a new quality mark to differentiate top quality ECDL training centres

ICS SKILLS, the Irish licensing body for ECDL training programmes, has launched a new quality mark to differentiate top quality ECDL training centres. ICS SKILLS currently accredits over 1,000 ECDL centres in Ireland. The new Certified Training Centre (CTC) status will enable the public to recognise those centres that have achieved recognition from ICS SKILLS on the basis of specific criteria of training excellence.

Commenting on the development, ICS SKILLS Professional Development Manager Mary Cleary said ìThe new CTC status was developed in response to demands from the market for the highest standards of total service delivery in IT training and certification. 300,000 Irish people have studied for an ECDL certification to date. Now candidates have a means of recognising centres who offer an enhanced service for candidates on a range of levels, including quality of trainers and study materials, as well as the provision of a continuum of training courses for candidates, from beginner, to intermediary, to professional level programmes.î

The first Irish CTC centres were announced at the recent ICS SKILLS Annual IT Training Conference. Fifteen centres from around the country were the first to receive the new status. These centres are highlighted in the Test Centre Locator which the public may access from:
