Assessment specialist PSL has strengthened its consultancy
practice with the appointment of two new psychologists.
Ed Hurst joins as Managing Consultant. With nine years of senior management experience in the assessment industry, he has undertaken large-scale, international projects in talent management and senior-level development. In his new role, he will be involved in consultancy delivery as well as sales, research and technical development.
Prior to joining PSL, Ed spent two years with Saville Consulting, where he was a Director in charge of consultancy and sales & marketing. He helped to develop the firmís personality assessment product and was responsible for its branding. He was previously Head of Consultancy at the psychometric test publisher and human capital consultancy ASE. Prior to this, he spent six years at SHL, latterly as head of their assessment and development centre practice.
Ed holds a degree in psychology from the University of Glasgow and a masters in occupational psychology from the University of Nottingham.
Marie Blakesley has been appointed as a Consultant. She will co- manage assessment projects and help clients to implement new selection and development processes and also run assessment training programmes for clients.
Marie was a Consultant for 18 months at Saville Consulting. She was involved in the design, trials and validation of their ability assessments and their personality measure. She also created training materials for British Psychological Society Level A and B courses and for bespoke client programmes.
Prior to this, she undertook a one-year contract as an HR
Resourcing and Development Advisor at the Environment Agency, where she managed the selection of internal and external candidates, using competency-based interviewing, behavioural assessment and assessment centres. She also spent two years working in marketing for Frontline, the UKís largest magazine distributor, running point-of-sale promotions for Emap magazines.
Marie holds a degree in psychology from the University of York and a masters in occupational psychology from the University of Nottingham.
