PSBStaffsign, Kentís local recruitment company, have joined forces with Computer Aid International and donated 20 computers for re-use in schools and community organisations in the developing world.
In this ever evolving world of technology, 3 million PCs are decommissioned every year in the UK and what better way for companies to recycle their equipment than to donate to this worthy charity.
PSBStaffsign decided to take action when 20 machines from the nine branches became available and they learned about the worthy work of Computer Aid International.
Mark Stevenson, Director, comments;
ìIt was a perfect way for our business to put something back into the community and to make a contribution especially to children who will greatly benefit from our donation.
ìIn this day and age computers are vital to businesses and we are extremely fortunate that we are able to have the latest technology at our fingertips in our business and, for many of us, even at home for our families. We have helped to give this chance to developing countries.î
And the donation process could not have been easier. Computer Aid collect and wipe all data from the computers. So, if you have unused computers laying around your offices or at home, why not get involved in this good work and contact the charity at www.computer-aid.org.
99% of schoolchildren in the developing world leave school without ever having seen or touched a computer.
Over 40,000 PCs have now been donated to the charity in the last six years and Computer Aid International continue to forge forward with their vital work which has such a positive social and economic impact for these developing countries.
