protemp4logistics launches Protracker

protemp4logistics, the specialist driver recruitment business, has launched an innovative new technology solution that ensures drivers are compliant with the latest working hours legislation. Protracker is a bespoke, web-based software package, developed exclusively by protemp4logistics, to better manage driver hours and optimise available resources.

Under current legislation, such as the EU Drivers' Hours Rules and the Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations, operators are responsible for ensuring driver hours are within legal limits and could face penalties including unlimited fines, up to two years in prison and the loss of their operators licence. Therefore, selecting the right driver agency that will protect against the risk of legal action has become a critical aspect of the recruitment process.

Protracker simplifies the workflow process by identifying suitable and available drivers, whilst ensuring any job allocation is within weekly limits and does not encroach on the required rest breaks. Protracker will also validate driving hours on a historical basis to ensure that no regulatory infringements have occurred. Where drivers have not complied with working restrictions, the system will raise an alert and provide guidance on what action should be taken.

Protracker has been developed to combine and streamline three back-office functions ñ payroll, bookings and hours management ñ that have previously been handled independently. As a result, the software package will also calculate driver timesheets and payments, generates invoices, and create a range of management reports for clients.
