PayStream support centre for contractors opens in Cumbria

PayStream has opened an office specifically for Sellafield contractors

PayStream, the provider of payroll, accountancy, tax and administration services to personal service companies and contractors, has opened an office specifically for Sellafield contractors.

PayStream currently provides services to around 500 of Sellafieldís 2,000 contract workers ñ and is aiming to increase that figure by providing top level support and advice on their doorstep.

By using PayStreamís services, contractors donít have to worry about getting aid on time because PayStream combines legally safe and compliant processes with a commitment to customer service excellence for competitive weekly fees. There is no chasing of invoices or filling in of tax or other returns since PayStream provides this service.

Wendy Mallard, PayStreamís Customer Relationship Manager, herself a former Sellafield contractor, said: ìThe last few months have been a testing time for Sellafieldís 2,000 contractors, some of whom will have been concerned by proposed legislation directly affecting the tax arrangements of the self-employed, particularly those paid under a composite scheme.

ìPayStream does not operate Managed Service Companies and never has. PayStream deals with contractors genuinely in business on their own account and therefore outside the pending legislation relating to Managed Service Companies as well as contractors who are working inside IR35. PayStream has a compliant solution whatever the contractorís circumstances.

ìBecause contract workers arenít always represented by a union, they often have nowhere to turn for help. As well as providing a commercial service, the purpose of the new PayStream Centre is to be close at hand to advise on any problems or issues contractors may face.î

PayStreamís Centre in Seascale, Cumbria will be open from 9am to 5.30pm every day. Appointments can be made with Wendy Mallard on 01946 729654.
