The e-Learning Foundation and Lease And Learn have partnered to ensure that children have access to the latest technology in the learning environment to help them with their home studies.
Lease and Learn satisfies the e-Learning Foundationís core principles; equity of access of all children in the UK to IT equipment, sustainability of use and the ability for all children to have home access to ICT for their studies.
Under the partnership agreement Lease and Learn will contribute to the e-Learning Foundation a proportion of the profits it earns from the school transactions via finance agreements concluded by the company.
ìLease and Learn have clearly demonstrated an empathy with our mission, and we are delighted that they want to put something back,î commented Valerie Thompson, Chief Executive of the e-Learning Foundation. ìWe are confident this partnership will help us further our goal of providing home access to children throughout the country for their studiesî.
ìWe are extremely pleased to be an ambassador for the e-Learning Foundation and make them our chosen charity,î added Jeremy Hall, Lease and Learn Chief Executive. ìTechnology is one of the greatest enablers in education and it is important that all children have access to the power of technology to further their learningî.
ìAny school looking to adopt mobile learning technology should put a call into the e-Learning Foundation, the charityís expertise will prove invaluable, added Hall.
ìToday technology is integrated into our daily lives and the majority of us take it for granted. But it is important not to lose sight of the fact that there are still 800,000 schoolchildren in the UK, according to a Government report, who do not have access to IT and the Internet at home, putting them at a grave disadvantage to their peers. They are victims of the digital divideî.
