Opus Executive Partners launch

Opus Executive Partners, a global executive search firm that focuses on the energy and natural resources sectors, is launching today. The company will be one of the few headhunting practices to focus entirely on these markets, industries that have shown explosive growth over the past five years.

The well-documented boom in the number of oil and gas E&P and mining companies has not been matched by a growth in qualified sector specialists, and this has lead to a major global industry skills shortage.

With half a century-worth of experience in search and selection, the founders of Opus have a strong track record of sourcing senior management, main board appointments and non-executives for oil, gas and mining industries and their financiers and advisers. They have worked with world-class firms including Egon Zehnder, McKinsey and Maxwell Drummond.

The company is founded by Brian Martin, who co-founded and worked for 20 years with a leading domestic and international energy search and selection company before founding Opus.

He will be working with Mark Weedon, who has 30 years top-level search experience managing generalist firms and recently specialized in Chairman and NED appointments. Previous experience includes Alexander Hughes, Egon Zehnder, McKinsey & Company, Shell (Australia) and his own firm, BoardSearch.
