Opodo, the pan-European online travel service today announced the appointment of Garry Thompson as Human Resources Director.
Garry brings nineteen years of Human Resources experience to Opodo, fifteen years of which have been within the travel technology industry.
Garry will sit on the Executive Team of Opodo and will be responsible, working with the current HR team, for developing the existing HR and organisation development strategy to enable it to fully support Opodo’s business direction and future growth plans.
Bart Tompkins, Acting CEO of Opodo commented, Garry will be a great asset to Opodo, and his past travel experience was a key factor in his appointment. He will provide knowledge and direction to our HR team as Opodo’s plans for growth are implemented.
Garry’s last role was as Head of HR for Amadeus Services Ltd, from July 2000 to July 2004, where he played a major role in the formation of the new company, seeing it develop from its start-up phase through to it becoming a fully established organisation of 360 people, providing IT services to the airline industry.
Prior to this, Garry worked for 11 years at Galileo United Kingdom where he was responsible for all aspects of Human Resources from strategy development to employee relations.
