Online Wellness Management Community launch for Health and Wellbeing at Work

TMP supports new online community to promote healthy, happy, high performance workplaces

A new online community portal designed to help employers boost the health, productivity and morale of their staff is being launched today at the Wellness Management Community Forum being opened by Professor Dame Carol Black in the wake of the Governmentís Health, Work and Wellbeing Strategy. The Wellness Management Community (WMC) will provide an online network and resource centre where health and wellbeing professionals can share best practice and give support to employers of all sizes.

TMP Worldwide, the recruitment advertising and communications specialist, has been involved in creating and designing the website which is aimed at employers who want to understand wellness management, improve the way they manage workplace health and help staff take control of their own mental and physical well-being.

A major development within the community will be the introduction of ìPersonal Wellness Zonesî, developed by Wellness Management consultancy WellKom, with input from the Public Sector People Managersí Association (PPMA). These online zones will be localised to different regions and towns in the UK, and around the world, as well as customised and branded for major employers, membership associations and trade unions.

Employees will be able to create their own private and confidential online Wellness Accounts which will give them access to a range of easy to use wellness services. These Zones will be backed up by local networks of accredited wellness professionals including Personal Wellness Coaches and Wellness Champions. National, portable qualifications are also being developed in partnership with a range of employers, educationalists and associations.

Employers from around the world and practitioners in Health Management, HR and Business Management are being invited to join the new online community to provide insight into the latest Wellness Management techniques and share best working practices. Sponsorship opportunities are available for forward thinking companies interested in helping fund original research and support the development of the new online community which is being supported by WellKom, PPMA, the Work Foundation and TMP Worldwide.

Terry Lawes, European Account Director at TMP Worldwide, explains: ìTMP works closely with organisations to help recruit the best people for the right jobs. The ongoing battle to attract top talent and to encourage consistent high performance will ensure that wellness is regarded with as much importance as diversity and corporate social responsibility. The positive impact of an effectively managed wellness programme on an organisationís employer brand can be dramatic and create genuine business advantage.î
