Online reward programmes find a home amongst the UK locum industry

Gurus went live today with itís reward programme, developed for locum agency, Global Medics. The programme sets out to reward locum doctors for the time they spend working for Global Medics.

For each hour a locum works for Global Medics, they automatically earn Global Points which they can redeem against hundreds of products ranging from cinema tickets and spa treatment days, right through to weekends in Vegas. The scheme also offers locums a direct financial contribution towards educational material and courses, to further their areas of expertise.

Locums manage their Global Points and redemptions online, through a dedicated website. An administration console has been fully integrated into the companyís accounting applications to provide a powerful application for managing the allocation and redemption of points. An integrated refer-a-friend application also aids recruitment by rewarding referrers with Global Points.

Randall explained, ìThis is the first of many rollouts for this schemeî. Global Medics acquired locum agency Doctors on Call at the end of last year, before being acquired itself by Multi Group Plc earlier this year for 14m. ìMulti Group now manages a cluster of locum agencies and there is no reason why the reward programme would not be extended to those organisations, if proven successful.î

The reward programme is being pushed via a series of advertisements, developed by Gurus, which will be running in BMJ Careers for the next 6 months. Gurus has also been working with newly acquired Doctors on Call to develop its new brand identity.
