Odgers Ray and Berndtson has appointed leading media and technology headhunter Gill Carrick.
Gill joins Odgers as a partner responsible for ICE (information, communication and entertainment sectors). Before joining Odgers, she recently advised the Department of Culture, Media and Sport on the appointment of the Vice Chair and seven Trustees of the BBC Trust, the body which has taken over the role of the BBCís Board of Governors. In the past, she has also worked closely with Channel 4 and handled the appointment of the current chairman Luke Johnson, as well as the appointment of two chief executives including Mark Thompson, who subsequently became Director General of the BBC.
ìOdgers has a great reputation for finding the right people for many of the most important jobs,î said Carrick. ìAfter almost 25 years with GKR and then Whitehead Mann, I needed a change and the Odgers team were shrewd enough to understand what might attract me. In fact, Odgers had very cunningly headhunted most of my team before offering me this position ñ so how could I refuse!î
Richard Boggis-Rolfe, Chief Executive of Odgers Ray and Berndtson added: ìOur business is all about finding executives who can make a real difference. In Gill, I firmly believe we have the best headhunter in the media sector. Iím very pleased sheís joined us and look forward to working with her.î
Odgers has handled a variety of important senior appointments over the last year, including Paul Deighton, Chief Executive of the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games; Richard Lambert, the new Director General of the CBI; and a selection of other highly regarded appointments to the chairmanship and boards of FTSE 100 companies.
