Northgate receives BSI certification in Revenues and Benefits

Northgate Information Solutions, a provider of innovative services to the public sector and utilities markets, today announces that its Revenues and Benefits division has received ISO 9001:2000 certification from the British Standards Institution (BSI).

The division is responsible for Northgateís market-leading revenues and benefits service, used by 170 local authorities across the country. It also delivers radical services designed to improve the take-up of housing and council tax benefits.

Northgate is supporting councils to:

ï reach out to their most vulnerable communities, through mobile systems that take benefits services out to those in need;

ï deliver self-service systems that allow citizens to make full applications for benefits and send in the evidence required to assess a claim;

ï provide staff with instant access to customer information, from citizens to large local businesses;

ï share information more effectively through improving integration with government departments;

ï streamline the management and reporting of council tax and business rates.

The certification means that Northgate will continue to provide a consistent, independently-assessed and benchmarked approach to revenues and benefits, set to the highest standard. The company will further demonstrate its ability to meet the needs of local authorities and enhance the quality of its service delivery through continuous improvement.
