No more paperwork for Camp America applications

.

Wading through reams of paperwork to apply for a placement at one of US’s leading Summer camps is now a thing of the past, thanks to a pioneering software solution, which enables job searchers to fill in, save the content of and submit applications online, in a PDF format.

Camp America, who receives more than 14,000 applications from young people for supervisor positions at its US-based Summer camps has introduced eForms, a new package from UK-based software house, Evenlogic, to allow applicants to apply online - without the hassle of hard copy paperwork.

Evenlogic worked closely with Camp America’s IT department in formulating the solution and in integrating its eForms package into Camp America’s work flow operation.

Using the system, applicants can download electronically-enabled PDF forms from the Camp America website. Then, using just their browser and Adobe Reader on their PC, applicants can enter data into the fields on the form. A button on the form allows the content of the partially completed or fully completed form to be saved to a protected area on the website and this allows applicants to return to the form at a later time to continue working on it. Once the applicant is completely happy with the content entered, a further button on the form allows them to submit their application.

Richard Howell, IT Director at Camp America commented: Both the applicant and Camp America benefit from the simplicity and flexibility of using PDF-based forms for on-line applications and applicants also benefit from the convenience of being able to save the content of partially completed forms.

John Jarvis, Evenlogic’s managing director, John Jarvis explained: Organisations involved in recruitment have for some time been able to accept CVs on-line, but receiving completed application forms on-line has always been more problematic which has hindered the deployment of on-line applications processes. The eForms solution now allows web based job application processes to be deployed with relative ease and provides a differentiator in attracting candidates.
