New year, new start, new job ñ no change

Fears of an economic slow down are not being reflected in a buoyant jobs market

Fears of an economic slow down are not being reflected in a buoyant jobs market.

The New Year has got off to a flying start according to Solihull based recruitment agency Outlook Unlimited who is reporting a strong start to 2008 amongst both employers and candidates.

ìIt is traditionally busy at the start of a year as people look to make a new start and often want a better job to help clear those winter debts and 2008 has been no different,î said Claire Hawkes, 31, managing director of Outlook Unlimited.

ìThe period before Christmas was quiet and given the credit crunch and pundits predicting a tightening economic situation I had wonder what to expect but recruitment is very busy across all sectors and at all levels.

ìWe recruit for clients looking to fill administrative, managerial and executive roles and find that there is a lot of activity from ground floor to Board Room level on the part of both employers and candidates.

ìConfidence seems to be high. When employers are unsure this can be reflected in a higher demand for temporary jobs as they hedge their bets but this does not seem to be the case.î

Outlook Unlimited operates from Malvern House in Solihull town centre and specialises in recruitment for the financial services, information technology, human resources and legal sectors.
